摘 要:The article focuses on the changes that occurred within the telecommunications sector in Great Britain. The key development has been the emergence of mobile telephony, as exemplified by Vodafone s rise. Central to the rollout of mobile services was the aggressive drive to win customers and to increase mobile penetration levels. To achieve a decent market share, a formidable amount of money continues to be spent on promotion, including the payment of substantial handset subsidies.
