摘      要：The article presents the memoirs of a veteran music book reviewer James Linderman. James Linderman lives and works at the harmony house, a music lesson, songwriting and recording pre-production facility in Newmarket, Ontario. He writes songwriting article and music book reviews for various publications like Canadian Musician magazine, Songwriters magazine, Professional Musician magazine, etc. He says that songwriting was, and always will be the greatest anomaly in his life. According to him, what defined success in songwriting for the longest time was money, successful songwriters made money from their songs and unsuccessful ones did not.
